What were the steps on your Primer Ladder?

Mine:

Step 1 (immediately after watching the movie): Confusion. What? Huh?
Step 2 (after rewatching it directly after step 1): Confusion mingled with deep contemplation.
Step 3: (trying to sleep after step one and two): Annoyance. "Why can't I figure the $%&!@ thing out!"
Step 4 (the next day): Hatred & Madness (and still a smidge of confusion). "I am going to break this DVD into little shards and spread it's pieces over the kitty litter."
Step 5 (The dawn of partial understanding): Renewd interest. "Maybe if I watched it one more time . . ."
Step 6 (after watching it four more times): The dawning of understanding. "Now I get the birds in the attic!"
Step 7 (the aha! moment): Awe.
Step 8 : Love and adoration for the movie.
Step 9: Purchasing the Movie.
Step 10: Making all of my peeps watch it and witnessing their open-mouthed gah. Then laughing while they to run to at least step 5 before I rush in like superman and act the brainiatic genius explaining it all to them.

Anyway, if anyone is listening: I was super impressed with everything. I am SO glad Mr. Curruth didn't have one of those hollywood scenes in which the main character monologues out the entire plot inthe end. I liked resurecting the lost parts of my grey matter by working it out. Shane certainly entertained me for days because even after the movie ended, it kept playing in my brain.

Also, this movie is a good weeder. If you are ever on a date and you suspect the guy (or gal) is a complete dolt, you may expose them to this movie and test their reaction to it. Depending on your taste in people (I like butterpecan) you can guage the future of your relationship on it.

Oh yeah, and I didn't notice the knee the first time around either.

Greetings from Utah,

Alison

I only watched it three times w/o the director commentary and attempted to watch both commentaries in the hope of understanding. No epiphany came. Thanks to this post though I know where I am in getting help - hovering endlessly at STEP 5!

And as this the second post I've read on the forum, Step 6 has remained out of my grasp, and a bit of a spoiler. (The attic *birds*! ARgh!) So I feel foolish, and doubly so b/c I already packed it back up and returned it to Netflix (with a bit of anger, I might add)!
